FIRST STEP Free Digital Skills Training Programme for Migrants
A new initiative aimed at strengthening the digital skills of third-country nationals living in Cyprus is set to take place in June through a series of free training workshops focusing on everyday digital competencies and employment-related skills.
The initiative seeks to support migrants in developing practical digital skills that can enhance both their daily lives and their opportunities in the labour market. Participants will have the opportunity to improve their confidence in using technology, access online services more effectively, and strengthen their employability through digital learning.
The training programme will cover a wide range of topics, including online job searching, CV and email creation, digital communication, online safety, the use of online services and platforms, and the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in everyday life and work environments.
Recognising the diverse backgrounds and experience levels of participants, the programme will be delivered at Basic, Intermediate and Advanced ICT levels, allowing individuals to select the training pathway most appropriate to their existing skills and knowledge.
The workshops will be held between 2 and 5 June 2026 and will be divided into two thematic areas. Sessions on Digital Skills for Employment will take place on 2 and 3 June, while sessions on Digital Skills for Everyday Life will be offered on 4 and 5 June. Participants will be able to choose between morning sessions (10:00–13:00) and afternoon sessions (15:00–18:00).
According to the organisers, the programme is designed to provide practical, hands-on learning opportunities that respond to the real needs of migrants living in Cyprus and help bridge digital skills gaps that can often limit access to employment, public services, education and social participation.
Registration is now open and interested participants can submit their application online through the programme’s registration form. The deadline for registration is 1 June 2026.
The project is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the European Union’s NextGenerationEU instrument, within the framework of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan.
For further information and registration details, interested individuals can visit the programme’s online registration page or contact the organisers directly.
